RYT 200
I found yoga in 2018 as a form of physical exercise. For years I practiced here and there as a way to escape the stressors of the outside world and find a sense of calm.
When the pandemic hit and I switched from standing all day teaching to sitting in a chair my back took a hit as well. I dove into yoga more consistently as a way to strengthen and support my body. When studios started to open up I went to one nearby and heard about their Yoga Teacher Training. I had never envisioned myself as a yoga teacher because of self-limiting beliefs, but I felt I needed to learn everything I could about this practice.
Yoga has taught me how to sit with grief, anxiety, and discomfort, and how to have greater compassion for myself and others. I got really good at running from all the hard feelings, but yoga continues to remind me that through my attention to breath, nonjudgement of sensation, and intention of movement I can sit with and survive all the tough things with time.
I feel so grateful to have yoga in my life and I want to share it with all who are open to it. When I’m not practicing or teaching yoga, I’m either studying for my MSW, getting creative in the kitchen, listening to podcasts, or hanging out with the people I love.
I’ll hold a space for you in my class no matter your experience or energy level. There’s power in showing up as you are and sharing this space with like-minded people. Come through!!
